In this vital role, you will be delivering high-quality behavioral instruction and supports tailored to meet the unique needs of learners with or at risk for developmental delays or learners developing typically who have not attained compulsory school age and are eligible for such services designed to reduce challenging behaviors and model new, functional communication, social, and daily living skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES
Participates as an interdisciplinary team member and provides individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programs and skill acquisition plans developed through assessment tools, including the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS), to support communication, adaptive behavior, daily living, and social skills development. Plans and implements behavioral analytics programming and documents progress on program goals and/or objectives in accordance with the Individual Education Plans of assigned learners. Creates and maintains daily schedules for unit learners and support staff. Develops plans based on needs and structures plans according to the day. Assesses the functional and behavioral needs of assigned learners. Implements a variety of strategies used to engage learners based on their assessed needs and desired outcomes. Implements individualized behavior intervention plans developed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) designed to reduce challenging behaviors (such as aggression, non-compliance, or self-injurious behavior) and teach new, functional communication, social, and daily living skills. Implements identified positive behavior interventions and supports. Observes learners in all settings to ensure proper implementation of behavioral strategies and monitors and oversees the effectiveness of individual behavior strategies. Provides positive intervention regarding behavior needs of learners with functional and behavioral needs taking all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect learners, equipment, materials, and facilities. Assists with completing learner assessments and collects quantifiable data from interventions and reports data to the team. Consults with staff working with learners with behavioral needs on behavior management techniques and information on specific learner needs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent is required Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience providing behavioral support services to children with developmental, emotional, behavioral, or educational needs is preferred Experience as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or in a comparable role implementing behavior intervention strategies, collecting behavioral data, and supporting individualized treatment or educational plans is preferred
