Job Description

Physical Support Staff The KidsLink School is seeking caring, passionate, and reliable team members to work alongside our classroom support staff assisting with de-escalation and crisis management procedures for our students with developmental disabilities. We are a specialized facility with highly trained staff and expertise in treating severe problem behavior. The KidsLink School provides year-round therapeutic and learning day programs for students with behavioral and related needs with licensed and certified staff. Instruction is based on intake assessments and highly individualized to meet the behavioral, educational and therapeutic needs of the student. All interventions are methodology- and research-based, including the foundation of Applied Behavioral Analysis. Our program focuses on developing language, social, and self-help skills. The KidsLink School is committed to the continuous education and training of its staff by hosting regular training sessions from its clinical staff.
Daily Responsibilities:
Respond to situations that may include physical aggression by providing physical support utilizing crisis procedures identified by Board Certified Behavior Analysts and developed by the Marcus Crisis Prevention Program Maintain hypervigilance during the school day in order to provide redirection and other behavioral interventions to individuals in crisis Respond to noncrisis scenarios throughout the school day To assist students with daily activities such as toileting and additional hygiene routines Demonstrate and perform as an effective adult role model for the students we support Assist in creating a physical environment that lends to progress Participate in mandatory trainings and refreshers Maintain flexibility by providing support to all classrooms when necessary Help maintain a clean and orderly work environment by assisting in cleaning and organizing protective equipment (mats, wedges, helmets, etc.) Requirements A minimum of a high school diploma Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred

background check Reliable Transportation Ability to work full-time in alignment with our school calendar Obtain and maintain Marcus Crisis Prevention Program certification (completed once hired) Physical Demands Ability to participate in physical interventions, when necessary, and with fidelity to the methods taught through our training model. Physical interventions may require intense physical exertion. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: kneeling, possibly for extended periods of time on hard surfaces, bending, twisting, and holding. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. regularly Risk of exposure to bodily fluids
