This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to develop hands-on skills in behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and working directly with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. You will be mentored by experienced professionals, gaining valuable experience in behavior management, data collection, and assisting with daily living activities (ADLs). Duties Support the implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans under supervision, utilizing principles of ABA and behavior management techniques. Assist children and individuals with developmental disabilities in daily activities, including communication, social skills, and self-care routines. Collect and record accurate data on behaviors, progress, and responses to interventions to inform ongoing treatment plans. Help facilitate teaching sessions that promote skill development in areas such as communication, social interaction, and adaptive behaviors. Support patients during therapy sessions by providing patient care that fosters a safe and encouraging environment. Maintain confidentiality of medical records and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times. Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent care plans are followed and progress is documented thoroughly. Experience Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), or special education is advantageous. Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation, and record keeping practices related to behavioral health. Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate data collection. Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with clients, families, and team members. Ability to work patiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
