Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Behavior Technician Trainee and embark on an exciting journey to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and individuals with developmental disabilities. This paid training position offers a comprehensive introduction to behavioral health and applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques, empowering you with the skills needed to support clients effectively. As a trainee, you will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in behavioral therapy, patient assessment, and data collection, all within a supportive and growth-oriented environment. This role is ideal for compassionate individuals eager to develop a career in special education, autism support, or behavioral health services. Responsibilities Assist in implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under supervision, focusing on skill development and reducing challenging behaviors. Collect and record accurate data on client behaviors using established data collection methods to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments. Support clients during therapy sessions, providing positive reinforcement and engaging them in therapeutic activities tailored to their needs. Observe and document client responses during sessions, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality. Participate in intake processes and diagnostic evaluations by gathering relevant information and supporting initial assessments. Maintain detailed medical records, documentation of patient care, and progress notes in accordance with medical terminology standards and legal requirements. Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless communication regarding client progress, treatment plans, and any concerns that arise during therapy sessions. Qualifications A genuine passion for working with children and individuals with disabilities, especially those diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Strong interest in learning about behavioral therapy techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), special education strategies, and behavioral health principles. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage positively with clients, families, and team members. Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of medical terminology, patient assessment procedures, and medical documentation practices is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Willingness to adhere to HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of all patient information. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in educational settings is a plus but not mandatory.
