Job Description

Category Schools - BCBA Job Type Contract Take the lead in making a meaningful impact as an Autism Support Specialist, providing targeted instructional and behavioral support to students from kindergarten through age 21 diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In this dynamic, contract-based opportunity near Hillsboro, OR, you'll serve learners with diverse needs, including those with Asperger's Syndrome and high-functioning autism, across classroom, resource, and alternative settings. With 1.0 FTE over 191 days per school year, your expertise will help create an inclusive and productive educational environment while fostering growth and independence.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential required Experience designing, implementing, and updating behavior support plans for students with ASD Proficiency in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and interventions such as discrete trial teaching, pivotal response training, and functional routines In-depth understanding of state and federal educational regulations related to ASD and special education Strong communication and collaboration skills for teaming with educators, families, and other service providers Experience adapting curriculum and assessments for a spectrum of learners Commitment to cultural and linguistic sensitivity in intervention planning
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and interpret academic and behavioral assessments to guide individualized instruction Develop and maintain behavior support plans aligned with student needs and evolving data Provide professional development and resources for instructional staff, families, and community partners Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility assessments, and collaboratively construct IEPs Foster social skill development and facilitate generalization of learned behaviors throughout the school day Assist in ensuring compliance with legal and policy requirements Stay updated on current best practices in ASD education and intervention If you bring a passion for supporting students with autism and a drive to make a difference in educational settings, you are encouraged to apply today.
