Job Description

Category Schools - BCBA Job Type Contract Take your expertise in applied behavior analysis to the next level supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder from kindergarten through age 21. Step into a dynamic, contract-based role as an Autism Support Specialist, providing full-time services (1.0 FTE, 191 days/year) within a dedicated student services team near Portland, OR. This opportunity allows you to shape individualized instruction and behavioral supports in diverse educational settings while helping other educators foster inclusion and positive outcomes for students with ASD, including those with Asperger's Syndrome and high-functioning autism.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active BCBA certification required Demonstrated experience designing and implementing behavior support plans Skilled in administering and interpreting assessments for students with ASD In-depth knowledge of research-based interventions and applied behavior analysis in educational settings Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams and participating in IEP development Strong communication skills for culturally and linguistically diverse communities
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver lessons that align with state standards and individual IEPs Conduct behavioral and academic assessments, and interpret results clearly for families and staff Initiate data collection, design, implement, and revise behavior intervention plans Provide direct instruction using varied ABA techniques: discrete trial teaching, pivotal response training, and more Guide social skills development and generalize learning across settings Adapt curriculum to meet diverse learner needs Train staff and families in effective intervention strategies and crisis prevention Collaborate with district leaders to ensure legal and educational compliance Connect families to local agencies, support services, and community resources
