Job Description
Child and Family Focus has partnered with DCIU to provide intensive behavioral and mental health supports to students placed in DCIU Aston Education Center, and The County Alternative High School (TCA). The position of the School Based Behavioral Technician will work with CFF team as well as DCIU teachers and staff in the classrooms to facilitate behavioral management and modification techniques. This position will work along with the students identified behavioral plans in an effort to decrease identified challenging behaviors. This is a 10-month, part-time position for the 2025-2026 school year, with a schedule of approximately 5.5 hours per day. Standard school work hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. We can offer flexibility with this schedule if needed! Adjusted hours or occasional days off may be considered, provided a consistent schedule with a minimum of 20 hours per week is maintained. Please note that this position is part-time for the 2025-2026 school year. This position offers the potential for growth, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role for the 2026-2027 school year!
Qualifications:
Individuals who provide Individual Services through Intensive Behavioral Health Counseling services shall meet one of the following: Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, sociology, education, criminal justice, or other related human services field OR a Licensed Registered Nurse a. PLUS one (1) year verified full-time paid experience working in direct care with children/adolescents OR a Bachelor's degree in another field a. PLUS one (1) year verified full-time paid experience working in direct care with children/adolescents OR an Associate's degree or sixty (60) credits toward a bachelor's degree a. PLUS three (3) years verified full-time paid work experience working in direct care with children/adolescentsJob Responsibilities:
Provide 1-to-1 support to the child, as well as educational team to address the therapeutic needs of the child, youth, or young adult using behavioral interventions and strategies as outlined in the student's behavioral plan in the school setting. Support problem-solving and skill development of the child, youth, or young adult. Instruct children on how to understand, direct, interpret, manage, and control feelings and emotional responses to situations. Support the development of improved decision-making skills to manage behavior. Assist with the development of social skills and socially acceptable behaviors. Instruct on stress reduction techniques. Collect behavioral data. Collaborate with team members including but not limited to: CFF School Based Outpatient team atDCIU, CFF
School Based Behavioral Health team, DCIU administrators and educators, outside service providers, and parents/care givers. Consult and obtain supervision biweekly. Submit proof of service delivery and billing documentation within required timeframe. Document case activity using an EMR system within the required timeframe. Participate in group supervisions monthly. Use and implement the 5 core values of Trauma-Informed Care in all work practices- Safety, Trustworthiness, Choice, Collaboration, & Empowerment.
