This position is responsible for supporting the Early Childhood Education department in leading, developing, implementing, and coordinating programs and services and various special education programs and behavior supports. Critical areas include interfacing with customers, district and IU administration and staff on important behavioral initiatives. The position supports instructional, non-instructional, and administrative personnel by utilizing skills in problem solving, ongoing progress monitoring, data collection and data analysis, functional behavior assessments, behavioral intervention, consultation and collaboration, program evaluation, staff training, and crisis management. This position embraces the development of entrepreneurial undertakings. Essential Functions Assist the DCIU develop and array of supports in special education and behavior supports, and implement activities to ensure diverse and flexible educational programs are responsive to Districts, IU, and consumer needs. Lead, supervise, and partner with instructional, non-instructional, and administrative personnel in their support of students who demonstrate disruptive or aggressive behavior, self-injurious behaviors, and/or other types of social or emotional impediments of behaviors that impact child/student accessing educational programming. Conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) that are intervention-oriented and that consider the environmental context of the presenting behavioral challenges, as they relate to the student's capacity to receive and/or benefit from instruction and prepare Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Utilize skills in progress monitoring by collaborating with instructional personnel to collect data on student behavioral outcomes that are relevant to the presenting behavioral challenges and that can be used for ongoing progress monitoring of students' responsiveness to proven behavioral interventions. Implement individual, group, or systems-level interventions that are scientifically proven to promote positive academic, social/emotional, behavioral, and independent functioning outcomes. Assist Individual Education Program (IEP) teams in the development of meaningful, objective, and measurable IEP goals and support instructional personnel in the progress monitoring of these goals. Provide staff development for school personnel on various topics pertinent to meeting the instructional and behavioral needs of all students (e.g., behavioral assessment and intervention, progress monitoring, positive behavioral supports, data collection, data analysis, etc.). Actively engages in DCIU's Continuous Improvement Process by systematically and continuously monitoring targeted processes to ensure that activities are related to outcomes. Support the Supervisors in Early Intervention and Early Childhood Education with special education behavioral programming such as but not limited to, behavioral staff supports, PCAs, BCBA's, and other behavioral supports in the community. Challenge and support the DCIU learning community to take risks, move at a rapid pace, engage in teamwork, and act with a sense of purpose and urgency. Demonstrate responsibility as a member of a professional learning community by staying current in relevant social and educational issues. Support grant writing and entrepreneurial activities for the purpose of maximizing additional revenue sources for the DCIU and expanding program/service delivery options. Assists with the compliance of federal and state laws governing student services, policies of the DCIU Board of School Directors, and DCIU Administrative Directives as they relate to operations in the Student Services Department and behavior supports. Fosters collegiality and team building among staff, encouraging active involvement in decision-making and implementation of programs, and contributes to the effective team management of all problems, issues, and opportunities. Performs other related duties as assigned and necessary.

Education Required:

Master's degree in job related area.

Certification Required:

Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis Degrees, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and successfully passed the Behavior Analyst Certification Board Supervisor Training Curriculum assessment.

Experience Required:

Five to Eight years of teaching/clinical experience.

Pay:

$105,355.00 - $126,426.00 per year
