Job Description

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Site Manager II, the Therapist II
  • Lead Wonder Kids provides quality, therapeutic, behavioral health services to children in a site-based group setting, collaborates with other team members, and facilitates team meetings.
The incumbent also provides clinical oversight and guidance, according to identified needs and general best practices, to ensure positive outcomes for the children at the clinical site, including the observation of and interaction with staff during group sessions. The position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, with the ability to meet weekly scheduling demands. The position functions as a graduate level professional in WK and provides training, supervision, and guidance to Graduate Level Professionals (GLPs) and Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) within the program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master's degree in a human services field ( preferred in applied behavior analysis [ABA], education, psychology, social work, or counseling).
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of Autism Therapy experience.
Licenses, Certifications & Clearances:
  • Behavior Specialist License (BSL) or other professional license (LPC, LCSW, LSW, LMFT) strongly preferred
  • Act 33/34 Clearances
  • FBI Clearance
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Exhibits ethical business behavior and maintains confidentiality of information and compliance as required by WFS policy.
  • Ability to exhibit cultural sensitivity and to contribute to a work environment where diversity is welcomed and supported.
  • Knowledge of childhood mental health diagnoses and behavioral conditions, including autism spectrum disorders, as well as the various treatment modalities for these.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours on a flexible schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Functions as a member of a team to conduct group therapeutic activities.
  • Maintains progress notes, data analysis, data collection methods, and other required paperwork/reports for each consumer on caseload.
  • Meets with the child, family, case manager, Site Manager II, MCO, school officials, and other treatment team members to support the clinical needs of the consumer.
  • Reports child's/adolescent's progress to the Program Coordinator ahead of treatment team meetings, including an overview of data as it relates to progress in multiple life domains, specific symptoms, problems, needs, and plans for continued treatment.
  • Provides clinical supervision, support, training, and mentoring to BHTs on how to implement interventions identified in the individual treatment plans.
  • Performs Social Responsiveness Scale with consumers.
  • Completes written order collaboration forms for consumers.
  • Assists the Program Coordinator with completing IBHS/WK assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, completing data analysis, and other authorization paperwork requirements as needed.
  • Assists in obtaining necessary signatures on reauthorization paperwork.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors the consistent implementation of individualized behavior support plans for consumers.
  • Adjusts planned activities or schedules, including own work schedule, to accommodate changes in group needs and size to maintain ratio.
  • Utilizes a behavioral analytic approach to influence behavioral changes and/or to improve group dynamic and receptiveness, including prompting learned behaviors, modeling appropriate social skills, redirecting problem behaviors, and instructing children in appropriate social behavior.
  • Intervenes to de-escalate crises to ensure the safety and maintenance of a positive group dynamic. Remains alert to behavioral signals to avoid crises whenever possible.
  • Assists in the management of space, supplies, and resources as appropriate for the site, including opening and closing the building and setting up rooms in preparation for group.
  • Follows a flexible schedule to be available to consumers, staff, and parents, including regular evenings and weekends.
  • Attends any Department of Human Services (DHS) or private insurer's mandatory trainings.
  • Completes incident reports, as required, and follows mandated reporter guidelines for reporting suspected abuse.
  • Receives monthly supervision from the Site Manager II.
  • Maintains a minimum of 12-15 billable hours in group, with rotation, to allow for observation of all consumers.
