Role & Responsibilities:
Join our in-home ABA team supporting a 10-year-old learner with autism, and high support needs. The client is affectionate, curious, and motivated by sensory play, music, movement, and cause-and-effect activities. He uses Proloquo2Go for communication and has made strong progress in spontaneous AAC use this year. You'll work under direct BCBA supervision to: Foster communication and independence using the Proloquo2Go AAC device and other multimodal communication tools. Implement individualized goals targeting communication, play, self-help, and tolerance skills. Build and maintain strong pairing and rapport through playful, enthusiastic, and sensory-rich interactions. Encourage participation through naturalistic, fun, and flexible teaching that keeps motivation high while maintaining structure. Run ongoing preference assessments, collect accurate data, and assist in generalizing skills across home routines. Collaborate closely with the BCBA and second therapist to ensure consistency, share observations, and problem-solve creatively. This learner benefits from a therapist who can think on their feet, turn everyday tasks into playful teaching moments , and understands motivating operations, differential reinforcement, and the importance of enthusiastic pairing .
Ideal Candidate Characteristics:
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or BCaBA with at least 1 year of ABA experience. Experienced with AAC systems (Proloquo2Go preferred) and supporting minimally verbal learners. Skilled in pairing, shaping, and natural environment teaching for early learners. Calm, patient, and consistent when managing escape-maintained or avoidance behaviors. Comfortable following structured treatment plans while staying playful, animated, and engaging . Reliable and collaborative team player, open to coaching and feedback. Ideally familiar with VB-MAPP Level 1-2 targets , reinforcement-based behavior reduction , and visual supports (e.g., schedules, first/then boards). Excellent attendance and professional communication required. Why Join Our Team?
