PRIMARY PURPOSE
Provide behavioral support to students in order to facilitate the development appropriate behavioral
competencies to function successfully in society.
QUALIFICATIONS
EducationCertification:
- Master's degree from an accredited university or college
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with special education endorsements preferred but not
required.
Experience:
- Three years successful teaching experience.
- Experience in working with behavioral or related programs.
Special KnowledgeSkills:
- Knowledge successful practices which promote positive school climate and behavior
support
- Knowledge the educational needs students with disabilities
- Knowledge Committee process
- Knowledge development and implementation
- Knowledge development and implementation Functional Behavioral Analysis (FBA)
and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) in e-Star and Review
- General knowledge curriculum and instruction
- Strong communication, organizational, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to speak Spanish desired but not required
- Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, parents and students
- General knowledge computer systems
- Ability to maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments and meetings.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES
. Deliver services, conduct evaluations, create reports and develop all other required
documentation in accordance with all federal, state and local guidelines.
. Implement, monitor, and assist with coordinating school-wide discipline plan including positive
behavior supports. (PBIS)
. Participate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team approach for assessing and BIP development.
. Assist teachersstaff in development and implementation FBABIP and participate effectively in
the process.
. Assist teachersstaff in creating classroom environments conducive to learning and appropriate to
the physical, social, and emotional development students.
. Implement, monitor, and assist teachersstaff in implementing strategies for improving individual
student behavior.
. Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission the school district.

Behavior Management Interventionist
. Implement, monitor, and assist teachersstaff in managing student behavior in the classroom,
including the use behavioral contracts, group contingency systems, and other strategies for
promoting positive behavior.
. Use facilitative communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
. Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, parents, and community members.
. Maintain updated professional, district related appointments and schedules on electronic calendar
systems. Electronically share the calendar with the Director andor designees as instructed by
the Director.
. Communicate with the Coordinator for Mental Health Services regularly.
. Channel concerns expressed by teacher(s) to the campus andor department administrator.
. Communicate regularly with the committee and Intervention Director.
. Engage in continuous improvement professional performance by pursuing a program of
continuing education including but not limited to participation in professional conferences
workshops, and meetings per district guidelines.
. Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
. Organize and conduct in-service and workshops.
. Maintain knowledge to comply with federal, state, district, and school policies.
. Attend and participate in campusdepartmental meetings and serve on departmental committees
as required.
. Compile, maintain, and file all reports and other documents as required in a timely manner.
. Perform any other duties assigned by Director. Additional duties assigned during the work-week
as may be specified on addendum if applicable.
