Job Description

School-Based Registered Behavior Technician Are you passionate about supporting students with behavioral needs in their efforts to succeed in a school setting? We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician to work with Norfolk Public Schools and nearby districts for the '26-'27 school year and beyond! You will be instrumental in creating a positive and productive learning environment, working with students from pre-K to high school. In this role, you will provide support in either a 1:1 or general classroom capacity.
Compensation:
$24.00 - $27.00 / hr

Student Support:
Travel with a specific student throughout their school day, providing tailored behavioral and academic support to help them meet their individual goals.
General Classroom Support:
Work alongside a lead teacher to assist multiple students in a structured classroom environment. No two days look the same.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
Implementing ABA strategies in real time Communicating clearly and calmly with students, teachers, and administration Staying active throughout the day (standing, walking, occasional lifting up to 40 lbs) Contributing to a collaborative, student-first team culture Assisting with personal care and hygiene needs as required
Requirements:
Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (or willingness to obtain prior to start) Hands-on experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Previous experience working with children in any capacity Certified in CPR (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred:
