Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
(non-exempt): Under minimal supervision, this role provides expert-level support in the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical equipment, instrumentation, and healthcare support systems. Responsibilities include performing advanced preventive maintenance, conducting inventory assessments and audits, and ensuring the reliability and safety of clinical equipment. The position also involves executing corrective maintenance and maintaining comprehensive documentation of all service activities, tests, and repairs performed.QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in biomedical technology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field required; or two years of experience in Biomedical Engineering.ACCOUNTABILITY

NonePOSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect complex medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems. Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections, recalls, and equipment repairs and failures. Performs inspections on all new and repaired equipment before patient use to ensure safe and proper function. Maintains designated medical equipment and accessories as per local codes, following established departmental procedures. Performs all scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs on demand to designated equipment, anticipating potential problems to minimize equipment failure and prevent interruption. Recommend new equipment and testing procedures. Maintain accurate inventory, tracking both the addition and the deactivation of clinical equipment. Works with the Director Facilities on contract agreements. Works with the Director Facilities to develop an end-of-life cycle for Biomedical equipment for planning and budgeting purposes. Attends necessary and in-services meetings. Collaborate with Information Technology to ensure HIPAA compliance and Cybersecurity hardening of all Biomed equipment. Works closely with Information Technology and Clinical Informatics on Biomed equipment infrastructure, connectivity, and EHR integrations. Maintain technical skills and be aware of emerging trends in healthcare technologies by periodically attending seminars, reading relevant professional materials, and participating in vendor supplied training sessions. Maintains a positive attitude in providing department services and promotes positive working relationships within the department, the hospital, and the community. Responsible for after-hours emergency maintenance on medical equipment. Performs other related duties as requested or required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, andABILITIES
Ability to analyze, repair and test electronic and electromechanical equipment. Considerable knowledge of the application and repair of computers and servers and how they interface with medical equipment. Basic knowledge of networking architecture. Ability to perform preventive maintenance inspections. Ability to run diagnostic programs. Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts drawings of biomedical instrumentation. Ability to maintain accurate records of repairs, calibration, and tests. Considerable knowledge of current regulatory requirements. Advanced written and verbal communication skills.WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works in a well-illuminated, climate-controlled environment May encounter hazardous chemicals or treatment modalities. Possibility exists of exposure to communicable diseases. Involvement in inpatient care may result in unavoidable work-related illness or injury. Work environment is comfortable, with minimal exposure to physical hazards. Moderate to loud noise environment when machines/equipment in use Involvement in checking in/moving of supplies may result in unavoidable work-related injury. Must be constantly alert for patient/family emergency situations.Location:
