This an onsite position. The role is responsible for getting the medical equipment ready in the OR room. We are looking for applicants that have good communications skills and detailed oriented. Overview Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. ''Our mission is to provide a team of empowered professionals providing continued improvement in patient care and equipment planning & support technologies.'' This team provides Clinical Engineering, Imaging Informatics, Clinical Equipment Asset Management and Planning and Clinical Equipment Capital Project Management services throughout the BJC HealthCare system by: serving patients through operational support and maintenance management of diagnostic, treatment, and patient support technologies, directly serving users, owners, and managers of medical equipment, servicing medical equipment planned, demand and corrective maintenance, providing operational support for functions employing medical technology, supporting Risk Management and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) functions, supporting technology asset management, acquisition, and disposal, maintenance contract management and capital project planning and management, and providing clinical equipment planning expertise for BJC Healthcare projects, working directly with
BJC PD&C, BJC
Entity Representatives, Architects, Engineers, contractors, etc. during the entire project. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Supports clinical teams and provides equipment support in the perioperative environment. Performs performance assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of medical instrumentation and systems of or more categories of Biomedical instrumentation. Responsibilities Conducts analyses to identify symptoms, definition of problems, option comparisons, appropriate solutions, implementation, and evaluation of results, troubleshooting if necessary. Provides in-service education and customer service to staff on equipment operation and safety. Responsible for providing mentoring and training to entry-level Technicians. Supports clinical teams with setup, support and trouble shooting of clinical equipment. Schedules but does not perform preventive maintenance, performance assurance testing, electrical safety inspections, and schedules repairs to correct failed equipment. Responsible for the safe and effective operation of select specialized surgical and procedural equipment within a clinical setting, including intraoperative support in the operating room. Responds to equipment issues in real time, collaborates with nursing and surgical teams and ensures proper functionality of key devices during procedures.
