CentraState is looking for a Biomedical Equipment Technician I to work onsite at our hospital- CentraState Medical Center, located at 901 W Main St, Freehold, NJ, 07728. Under general supervision of the Supervisor / Manager of Clinical Engineering, the Biomedical Equipment Technician I (BMET I) is an entry-level role, responsible for performing basic maintenance, repairs, and calibration of medical equipment. This position supports patient care by ensuring the availability and functionality of medical technology across hospital and clinical environments. The BMET I works under the guidance of Supervisor / Manager and gradually builds the knowledge and skills needed for more complex responsibilities. This position plays a key role in maintaining safe, functional, and available medical equipment for patients and care givers.

- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on basic medical equipment.
- Respond to service requests and perform routine repairs on medical devices.
- Assist in troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repair, and inspection activities in the computerized maintenance
management system (CMMS).
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards (e.g., The Joint Commission, NFPA, FDA).
- Interact with clinical team members to understand equipment issues and provide technical support.
- Educate users on proper operation and basic troubleshooting when appropriate.
- Tag and inventory new equipment; assist with equipment installations and relocations.
- Maintain parts, hand tools and test equipment inventory, ensuring cleanliness and organization of the workspace.
- Participate in on-the-job training and continuing education programs to develop technical skills.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and changes in medical equipment regulations.
- Collaborate with other team members, vendors, and clinical departments to resolve equipment issues efficiently.
- Prepare to assume 24-hour on-call repair responsibilities within 6 months of hire.

Manager of Clinical Engineering Qualifications Education:
Minimum:
Associates Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology (BMET/EET) required OR
Military training in Biomedical Equipment Technology (BMET) required.
Certificates Pursing:
AAMI Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) preferred.
Experience:
Internship or hands-on training in a hospital or healthcare environment preferred 0-2 years of related experience in a clinical or technical setting
Knowledge/Skills:
Must be familiar with analog and digital electronic principles and theory, and have the ability to interpret wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.
Must be able to build and set-up test circuits for specific tests and measurements.
Ability to read, comprehend, and transmitcomplicated detailed instructions in writing and orally required. Demonstrated computer skills required. Must be able to meet deadlines. Compensation Range:
$27.00-$43.20 per hour The compensation above reflects the established range from CentraState Healthcare System (CSHS) for this position at the time the job was posted. CSHS considers many factors to determine compensation, including education, experience, skills, licenses, certification, and training. As such, team member compensation may fall outside this range. Additionally, the compensation range reflects base salary and does not include extra shift rates or incentives tied to quality, productivity, etc., as applicable.
