Job Description:
Monday
, REMOTE Identifies, analyzes, and documents the history, diagnosis, treatment, disease status, and survival data of cancer patients. Prepares and electronically submits required reporting information to the state and other appropriate cancer databases. Collects data for patient care evaluations, protocol studies, and audits. Complies with all reporting requests and requirements. Abstracts all required cancer-related information into the electronic cancer registry system. Coordinates and maintains the long-term follow-up process of data collection and input for all cancer registry patients. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Medical Terminology & Anatomy
- Required] Attention to details and strong understanding of cancer data collection, medical coding and healthcare regulation
- Required] Cancer Staging and Classification Systems
- Required] Coding Systems
- Required] State and Central Cancer Registries Reporting
- Required] Knowledge of abstracting systems
- Required] Cancer Case Abstracting

- Making judgments on stage grouping, coding and treatment classification

Associate's in Health Information Management [Required]
Field of Study:
