Job Description

FT 7p Under the direction of Unit Director, the Monitor Technician (MT) performs unit functions such as viewing monitor screen for changes in patient cardiac rhythm and notifying RN of any changes noted, transcribing physician orders, etc., appropriate to the position and in compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
Requirements:
Education:
High School Graduate or G.E.D. Education in medical terminology preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience in basic EKG interpretations preferred. Licenses, Certifications and/or
Registrations:
BLS Equipment/Tools/Work Aids:
Uses cardiac monitors, telephone, copier, fax and computer
Specialized Skills:
Good communication skills, both verbal and written, time management and customer focused skills. Ability to form effective working relationships with hospital staff.
