Summary of Job Duties:

The Cardiovascular Cath Lab, Structural and Electrophysiology Lab Technologist works under supervision and reads/interprets health record documentation to identify all diagnoses and procedures that affect the outpatient encounter visit. This position will also be responsible for producing Cath Lab images for medical interpretation but will not supervise other Cath Lab technologists. This position is located at the UAMS Health Benton/Bryant location.

Graduate from a 2-year certificate program certified by the ASRT in Radiology Technology Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Licensed by the State of Arkansas in

Radiology Technology Preferred Qualifications:

Baccalaureate Degree One or more years of experience Cath Lab Advanced Certification by the

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Additional Information:
Responsibilities:

Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites, and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Assists physician with performing diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional procedures. Performs related imaging procedures. Analyzes results and takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. Assists with monitoring patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Prepares equipment and supplies. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Other duties may be assigned to this position.

Medium Work | Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The Employee is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, general laborer, lab personnel, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard). The Employee is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts or vehicles, electrical current, working in high places, exposure to chemicals, biological, radiological or hazardous materials.
