Position Summary:
Phoenix Heart, PLLC is looking for a Full Time Cardiovascular Technician (CVT). The CVT is responsible for performing a variety of cardiac diagnostic testing procedures as ordered by providers. This role requires specialized knowledge and technical skill in support of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular services provided to the Practice patient population.
Key duties include:
Perform diagnostic Holter monitor scanning as ordered by providers with excellent recognition of complex arrhythmias and EKG abnormalities Perform pacemaker follow-up to include in-house testing and trans-telephonic monitoring Perform diagnostic cardiac testing including routine, nuclear, and medicated cardiovascular stress tests Perform proper lead placement and administration of EKGs Maintain accurate and complete patient charts and testing records Provide test data, results, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation Monitor the patient's physical condition during all procedures; report changes in status or emergency situations to clinical staff, manager, and/or cardiologist Recognize abnormal rhythms and immediately notify the physician or appropriate clinical staff Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Troubleshoot equipment and document errors or equipment malfunctions; escalate issues and concerns to manager and/or cardiologist. Perform tasks that are within the scope of his/her educational preparation, knowledge, and local, state, and federal guidelines.
Requirements:
Qualifications Desired Skills and Experience:
2+ years of experience as a CVT Basic knowledge of life-threatening EKG abnormalities and arrhythmias Basic knowledge of EKG interpretation and pacemaker functions Knowledge and ability to perform Holter monitoring, stress testing, and pacemaker procedures Ability to perform stress testing and other cardiac diagnostic procedures Professional attitude with a strong commitment to patient care and safety Ability to solve problems, prioritize, and multi-task in a deadline-driven environment Ability to make independent decisions regarding matters of significance and work with little to no supervision Able to work in a team environment, interact positively with team members, and work outside core business hours as needed Excellent verbal & written communication skills Keenly attentive to detail Ability to keep sensitive information confidential High level of proficiency with PC based software programs Compliance with Infection Control, Standard Precautions and OSHA standards for healthcare professionals Able to wear personal protective equipment (e.g. face mask, goggles. Latex/non-latex gloves) as needed Ability to perform physical demands such as turning, bending, squatting, kneeling, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; constant/repetitive standing; requires normal, correctable vision and hearing, and the ability to accurately discern color as necessary to perform job functions.
