Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) Technician, where you will play a vital role in safeguarding patient neurological function during complex surgical procedures. Your expertise in neurophysiological monitoring will ensure real-time assessment of neural pathways, providing critical data to surgeons and enhancing patient safety. Duties Set up and calibrate neurophysiological monitoring equipment prior to surgeries, ensuring accurate data collection. Monitor patients' neural responses throughout surgical procedures, focusing on motor, sensory, and cranial nerve functions. Collaborate closely with surgical teams to interpret real-time neurophysiological data and alert them to any changes indicating potential neurological compromise. Maintain detailed documentation of intraoperative findings, technical procedures, and patient responses for legal and clinical records. Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to monitoring devices promptly during surgeries. Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures throughout all monitoring activities. Stay current with advancements in neurophysiology and intraoperative monitoring techniques to continually improve service quality. Experience Proven experience as an Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technician or in a related neurophysiology role within a hospital setting. Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation methods relevant to intraoperative monitoring. Familiarity with advanced imaging techniques such as CT (Computed Tomography) scans used for surgical planning and intraoperative navigation. Experience working in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly preferred, demonstrating ability to operate under high-pressure situations. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs interpretation, and emergency medicine protocols essential for rapid response during critical moments. Prior involvement in neurocritical care environments enhances understanding of complex neurological conditions requiring vigilant monitoring. Certification in intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring is required; ongoing education is encouraged to maintain cutting-edge skills.
