Cardinal Lane, Falls Church, VA Job Summary:
As a Pulmonary Technologist, you will measure, analyze, and record pulmonary function procedures and perform non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing for patients on care units, in the department, and in the outpatient clinic. Working under the direction of a physician and the laboratory coordinator/manager, you'll serve as a go-to resource within the Pulmonary Laboratory, performing routine pulmonary function testing and cardiac monitoring independently. You'll implement quality assurance and quality control programs, train new employees, troubleshoot equipment issues, and help ensure adherence to Joint Commission and regulatory standards. You'll also participate in educational and clinical programs, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and attend continuing education seminars to stay current in your field. Who Should Apply High School diploma or GED with certificate in respiratory therapy OR Associate's degree in respiratory therapy OR Bachelor's degree in health science or biology required. One year (12 months) experience in a pulmonary function lab, preferably in an academic/research environment. CPR (BLS) certification required. Credentialing through the N.B.R.C. as a respiratory care practitioner or pulmonary function technologist required (certification and/or registry). Must maintain certification throughout employment. If not credentialed, must become credentialed within 2 years of employment. Salary Range:
Minimum 24.91/hour - Maximum 41.12/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
