JOB FUNCTION
The Cardiovascular Laboratory Technician specializes in assisting with safe and accurate diagnostic and interventional exams and procedures performed in the Cardiovascular Laboratory. The technologist is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for patients under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. The technologist is proficient in all aspects of angiography, preparation, assessment, documentation and monitoring consistent with the policies, procedures and processes of the Cardiovascular Lab. 2. Adheres to the guidelines and standards of professional practice associations. Adheres to regulatory standards. 3. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. 4. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, appropriately uses PPE, and performs hand hygiene according to accepted standards of care. 5. Identifies and prepares the patient using aseptic technique as dictated by the procedure to be performed. Observes and promotes appropriate infection control practices. 6. Exhibits awareness of hazards which may endanger patients. 7. Annually meets all required department specific and facility specific required competencies. 8. Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies. 9. Facilitates timely patient throughput. 10. Produce an accurately written, promptly completed medical record for each patient based on the scope and complexity of the intervention procedure and patient clinical conditions according to professional guidelines and standards of care. 11. Maintains authenticity and security of the record; follows prescribed process for amending documents 12. Performs effectively in two of the three procedural roles (circulate, monitor, scrub) required in a therapeutic cardiac laboratory team. 13. Communicates effectively. Establishes and maintains two-way communication with peers, staff, physicians and administration. Communicates appropriate information to management in a timely manner. 14. Maintains a clean, neat and safe environment for patients and staff. 15. Adapts to change in a positive manner 16. Follows through on problems that may compromise patient care, using the appropriate chain of command. 17. Consistently ensures optimal operation of all technical equipment, reports all concerns immediately. 18. Proficient in contrast materials administration. 19. Assists the physician with fluoroscopic or other special examinations. 20. Assist in assessment of emergencies and responds appropriately to the situation. 21. Performs other tasks according to departmental needs.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Two years of Interventional Cardiovascular Lab experience 2. Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology Program or RCIS Credentials 3. Interventional Radiology Lab experience (preferred) 4. Peripheral Lab experience (preferred) 5. Electrophysiology Lab experience (preferred)
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED
1. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) 2. Basic Life Support (BLS) 3. Registered Radiologic Technologist in good standing with the State Licensing Board, (RCIS credentials preferred) OR 4. Paramedic (EMT-P) Licensure, and RCIS Credentials 5. Registered Cardiac Interventional Radiography certification (preferred)
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies and procedures, medical records, financial reports and laws, rules and regulations.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear.
- The employee frequently is required to move all extremities within full range of motion as well stoop and bend at 90 degrees.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee may be required to stand for extended periods of time wearing radiation protection.

- Previous EPIC experience preferred!!
- -Previous Cath Lab Tech experience required.
- -Registered Radiologic Tech preferred
- -Experience RCIS candidate will be considered.
- -Hours will be Monday through Friday 06:30-15:00
