About your role:
Perform high-quality vascular ultrasound studies, specializing in venous and arterial flow assessments. Practice independently as a Level III Vascular Sonographer with advanced vascular expertise and dual registry credentials. Assist vascular surgeons and providers with diagnostic testing and EVLT procedures. Collaborate with physicians, staff, and external partners to support exceptional patient care and service. Utilize imaging technology and computer systems to ensure accurate documentation and efficient workflow. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff orientation, and student training while promoting patient, physician, and employee satisfaction.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or ARRT-approved ultrasound program. Minimum of 5 years of vascular ultrasound experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in both required ultrasound registries. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association .
Current vascular ultrasound credential:
RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) through ARDMS or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) through CCI. In addition to a vascular credential, must hold one of the following: RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) through
ARDMS RCS
(Registered Cardiac Sonographer) through CCI RPhS (Registered Phlebology Sonographer) This position requires advanced vascular ultrasound expertise with dual-credentialed sonography certification. Performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures fixed and mobile according to the policy and procedures that are provided by the cardiovascular department. A Level 3 (primary vascular) sonographer must be specialized in vascular ultrasound testing. A level 3 Sonographer must be specialized in vascular ultrasound testing with 2 valid registries (registered cardiac sonographer or registered phlebology sonographer). Currently practicing independently. Assists the providers with designated diagnostic exams. Interacts with medical staff and other outside entities regarding ultrasound matters. Must be proficient in carotid, venous studies, arterial, abdominal visceral, hemodialysis duplex, and physiological exams. Assists vascular surgeons in EVLT procedures. General computer skills as needed. May transport non-narcotic medications as directed. Works positively with all customers to promote patient, employee, and physician satisfaction. Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Participates in staff/student orientation training.
Requirements Education:
Graduated from accredited or ARRT ultrasound program.
Experience:
5 years in vascular ultrasound preferred. Must be proficient in both registries.
Certification:
BLS (American Heart Association/Basic Life Support) required. Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Vascular Technology (RVT) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International in Vascular Ultrasound (RVS) and one of the following registries: Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in cardiac sonography (RDCS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International in Echo Ultrasound (RCS) or Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhS).
