Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Cardiac Perfusionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of cardiovascular physiology and advanced technical expertise in operating heart-lung machines and related perfusion equipment. As a CV Perfusionist, you will play a critical role in supporting cardiac surgeries and other complex procedures by managing extracorporeal circulation systems with precision, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining optimal operational standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to life-saving interventions within a dynamic hospital environment. Duties Operate and monitor heart-lung machines during cardiac surgeries, ensuring precise control of blood flow, oxygenation, and temperature regulation. Collect and analyze patient data, including vital signs and physiological parameters, to adjust perfusion settings accordingly. Manage inventory of perfusion supplies and equipment, ensuring proper sterilization, maintenance, and availability for procedures. Assist with sterile processing of perfusion devices and maintain aseptic techniques throughout all procedures. Support patient care activities such as IV infusion, venipuncture, medication administration, and patient monitoring before, during, and after surgery. Collaborate with surgical teams to interpret medical terminology related to cardiovascular anatomy and physiology for optimal procedural outcomes. Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and hospital safety standards at all times. Participate in emergency response efforts by applying basic life support (BLS) skills during intraoperative crises or acute care situations. Skills Extensive knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, anatomy, and related medical terminology. Proficiency in data collection, analysis skills, and patient monitoring techniques. Experience with inventory management systems and inventory control practices for perfusion supplies. Skilled in sterile technique, infection control measures, and aseptic processing of equipment. Ability to perform venipuncture, IV insertion, infusion therapy, and medication administration accurately. Familiarity with cardiac catheterization procedures and catheterization techniques. Strong understanding of hospital protocols related to acute care settings such as pediatrics or adult patients requiring complex interventions.
