Position Overview:

As a Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician (CVOR Tech), you will play a vital role in supporting complex cardiac surgeries by maintaining sterile conditions, preparing surgical equipment, and assisting the surgical team throughout high-acuity procedures. Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the scrub technologist for open-heart, thoracic, and vascular procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repairs, aortic surgeries, and Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implantations. Prepare and maintain sterile fields, managing complex instrument sets, grafts, prosthetic valves, cannulas, and specialized disposables to ensure readiness for each case. Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies with precision and efficiency, anticipating the needs of the surgical team during high-stakes cardiac surgeries. Collaborate with perfusionists and circulating staff to set up and transition on bypass circuits, including pump priming and management of cardiopulmonary bypass. Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols throughout all procedures. Assist in troubleshooting equipment and maintaining sterile field integrity in high-pressure situations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Associate degree or completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist in a hospital operating room, specifically with cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgeries. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from NBSTSA required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) a plus. Previous experience in cardiovascular surgical procedures highly preferred. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Shift & Schedule:

5x8-hour shifts with varying start times including: 6:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, or 2:45 PM.
