POSITION SUMMARY
The Imaging Technologist performs patient examinations and related clinical activities in accordance with established protocols. This role includes assisting clinicians during procedures, circulating in and out of the procedure room to retrieve necessary supplies and equipment, and performing hemodynamic monitoring tasks. The Imaging Technologist ensures accurate and complete patient records, verifies clinical history, and completes all associated documentation and accession procedures. Additional responsibilities include conducting quality assurance and control (QA/QC) procedures for imaging equipment and PACS, archiving and finalizing patient examinations, initiating IVs, administering contrast media, and removing arterial or venous sheaths as needed. The Imaging Technologist maintains strict adherence to sterile techniques and ensures a clean and safe examination environment. A strong knowledge base in the care of adult and geriatric patients is essential. The Imaging Technologist may also be responsible for transporting patients, ordering supplies, arranging equipment maintenance, and assisting in the training of student technologists. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are required to interact respectfully with patients, families, visitors, and vendors across all age groups, with sensitivity to cultural and religious beliefs.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Graduation from a certified Radiologic Technology program, required ARRT Certification, required Current Mississippi state Board of Health registration as a Medical Radiation Technologist, required Current BLS/CPR certification, required One to two (1-2) years of experience in special imaging modalities, preferred Knowledge of Cardiovascular ASC procedures, infection control practices and emergency response protocols
