Summary:
Performs cardiac echocardiograms as ordered by the physician.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Includes the following but other duties may be assigned: Prioritize and evaluate patient orders Prepares patient and explains procedures to patient; answers questions carefully and completely Perform diagnostic echocardiogram procedure in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physician Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment Maintain ultrasound equipment in appropriate operating condition Maintain examination rooms and work areas. Order and stock all ultrasound and vascular lab supplies Maintain accurate department records, reports and files as directed Performs other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications Required :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Completion of accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program RDMS Experience in cardiovascular pathology BLS/CPR certification
