Job Description
Position Summary The Registered Radiology Technologist RT(R)/Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) serves as a member of the Cardiovascular Catheterization Team. Independently performs technical duties associated with procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab, assists physicians in performing procedures and assists nursing staff with patient care activities. Primary Position Responsibilities 1. Prepare the Catheterization Laboratory and equipment for procedures, maintain supply inventory, and support a clean environment of care. 2. Function as scrub assistant during diagnostic, interventional and all other procedures performed in the Cath Lab. 3. Function as hemodynamic monitor and control room operator during procedures; provides accurate recordkeeping of procedures. 4. Provides high quality radiographic imaging, which includes quality assurance and radiation safety. 5. Review documentation, including procedure orders and patient medical record; explain procedure, answer questions and provide a high level patient experience. 6. Maintain record of images, reports, equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
Qualifications Minimum Education:
Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Graduate of Radiology Technology program, Registered Radiology Technologist through AART Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
1Year Preferred:
2 or more yearsLicense, Registry or Certification :
Required:
- Registered Radiology Technologist RT(R) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or equivalent or registry eligible
- ACLS
- BLS Knowledge, Skills and/or
Abilities :
Required:
- Computer skills, Communication and Customer Service skills are essential.
- Must possess the ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize duties.
- Must be self-directed and work well independently as well as on a team.
- Works effectively in stressful environment.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
