Job Description

Unit overview One dedicated cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) with an average volume of 2-3 cardiac cases per week. Case mix and core responsibilities Primary cardiac procedures include CABG and valve repairs/replacements. Technologists must be able to independently scrub open-heart cases and assist with vein harvesting; experience with endoscopic vein harvesting is preferred, open technique acceptable. Required broader surgical experience Because cardiac volume is low, candidates must be versatile and able to support other service lines. In addition to CVOR experience, applicants must have experience in vascular, general surgery, and plastics. Candidates with CVOR-only experience will not be considered. Floating requirements Daily floating is required based on case volume. Assignments may include general OR, vascular, and other surgical specialties as needed. Equipment and systems Must be familiar with standard CVOR equipment and sterile cardiac instrumentation, including a heart‑lung (bypass) machine support environment and cell saver. No specific vendor certification is required, but strong adaptability to different systems is expected.
