Job Description

Category Nursing - CVOR Tech Job Type Contract Advance your career in perioperative nursing as an integral member of a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team. This contract role supports surgical excellence by ensuring sterile technique, adherence to infection control, and seamless collaboration in high-acuity cardiac procedures. Enjoy a dynamic schedule and the opportunity to work on the full spectrum of cardiothoracic cases—including CABG, valve replacements, VATS, and robotic chest procedures.
Schedule & Shifts:
Day rotation, Monday through Friday Full-time, 40 hours per week Option for 5x8 hour or 4x10 hour shifts, with typical start times between 6:00am and 7:00am Up to 3 call shifts per week (8-16 hours each) One weekend with call duty every 4 weeks 13-week contract
Qualifications:
Demonstrated CVOR and recent cardiothoracic surgical experience (CABG, valve replacements, VATS, robotics) Active Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA required) Current BLS certification Proficient in maintaining sterile technique, anticipating surgeon needs, and organizing the operative field Experience with specimen handling, OR safety protocols, and effective turnover between cases
Key Responsibilities:
Uphold sterile technique standards and infection control at all times Assist with surgical preparation, including gowning, gloving, draping, and passing instruments Keep meticulous counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies Prepare and care for instruments and equipment according to surgical preference cards Foster a safe environment by identifying hazards and ensuring pre-op readiness Contribute to rapid and thorough OR turnover Take part in rotating call duties and weekend coverage This is an excellent opportunity for skilled CVOR Techs who thrive in fast-paced, collaborative settings and take pride in supporting life-saving cardiac procedures.
