Job Description

Category Nursing - CVOR Tech Job Type Contract Step into a vital operating room support role where your proven cardiovascular surgical expertise makes a direct impact on patient outcomes. This position seeks a qualified CVOR Technologist with a strong background in cardiothoracic procedures, including CABG, valve replacements, VATS, and robotic-assisted chest surgeries. You will closely collaborate with a high-performing surgical team, ensuring strict adherence to sterile protocols and safety standards.
Schedule/Hours:
Day rotation, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week) Choose from 5x8 or 4x10 hour shifts, typically starting between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Up to three on-call shifts per week (ranging from 8 to 16 hours) One working weekend every four weeks, including a call shift 13-week assignment
Qualifications:
Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) BLS certification required Demonstrated CVOR and cardiothoracic surgical experience Proficient with procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, VATS, and robotic chest operations
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and observe strict sterile technique and asepsis at all times Effectively assist surgeons with scrubbing, gowning, gloving, and instrument handling Anticipate surgeon and team needs throughout every phase of the procedure Conduct accurate counts of surgical materials and instruments Prepare and assemble surgical supplies in line with preference cards; resolve any supply issues proactively Support a safe environment for patients and surgical staff by identifying potential hazards Serve as a departmental resource to new staff and leverage the knowledge of experienced team members Participate in room turnover between cases and follow established specimen handling protocols Take part in rotating call duties and occasional weekend shifts Expand your impact in the operating room with this advanced and rewarding CVOR Technologist opportunity.
