DEFINITION
The monitor technician, under supervision of the registered nurse, monitors cardiac rhythms, assist-nursing staff in correct use of telemetry, and electrode placement.
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
(IF
APPLICABLE
): Successful completion of monitor technician orientation/course.
BLS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED preferred. May consider school attendance record and performance record. Some units may require additional skills or credentials.
