Bonus Potential Summary/Objective The Cardiac Sonographer provides general cardiology services to patients as assigned in accordance with established Departmental and Hospital standards of care. Essential Job Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Assists and performs services in the Department including echocardiography, carotid Doppler studies, peripheral studies, stress testing and others as required and participates in call coverage to provide continuity of service. Reviews medical record including admission and current cardiovascular orders, patient history, physical examination, and EKG. Maintains awareness of control switches on machine and how they affect the images and/or EKG tracing, including when they should be used and what changes occur. Uploads Holter Monitoring to vendor Web site. Prepares patient, sets up equipment and assists physician in performing stress tests and TEE's; as well as, performs all measurements needed. Actively participates in department meetings. Consistently demonstrates behavior which reflects that working as a team is more important than self-interest. Demonstrates interpersonal competencies such as problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict management. Participates in quality control and performance improvement Required Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent and successful completion of course in echocardiography, carotid ultrasound, or peripheral ultrasound; basic arrhythmia course or equivalent experience. 6 months - 1 year of related experience. Required License/Certifications CPR certification on hire, RDMS, RDCS, RCS, RVS, or RVT within 90 days of hire or a minimum of 10 years of experience in field of echocardiology
