Specialty Sonographer 3 Job Responsibilities The Specialty Sonographer 3 serves as a clinical expert who provides high‑level specialty ultrasound services, leads quality and performance‑improvement initiatives, and supports departmental operations. This role exercises independent judgment, mentors staff, and acts as a key resource for complex imaging and workflow needs. Identifies and manages clinical or emergent problems that may impact exam outcomes, ensuring patient safety and optimal diagnostic quality. Manages high‑level disinfection processes, including maintaining glutaraldehyde or hydrogen peroxide systems and associated logs. Ensures proper cleaning, maintenance, and safe operation of all ultrasound equipment; coordinates repairs, replacements, and inventory needs with Biomedical Engineering, IT, and vendors. Leads performance‑improvement initiatives, quality‑assurance activities, and compliance‑related documentation. Participated in some healthcare related community engagement event. May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical, setting. Sonography or five years of specialized training in a hospital/healthcare.
Certification:
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS); or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer (RCS) Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start.
Experience:
