Cardiovascular Sonographer Supervisor Job Responsibilities:

Explains procedures to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation. Assists the physician in performing a variety of examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile technique, as evidenced by Radiologist's satisfaction. Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services and meetings, as evidenced by attendance records. Attends 50 percent or more of QA conferences. Demonstrates an ability to assist with various projects and departmental operations that may include ICAEL accreditation, echo research projects and cardiac fellowship with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness, as evidenced by successful outcomes. Assists departmental leadership with hiring process, departmental education and the training of new staff. Ensures adequate staffing plans on a 24 hour basis and ensures equitable staffing requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Certification

• Basic Life Support Upon start; American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Registered with Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certification; or Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered with Certification for Vascular.

Registered Cardiac Sonographer Certification for Echo, or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography with Registered Vascular Technologist or Cardiovascular Credentialing International with the Registered Vascular Specialist Licensure

• None required Experience
• Seven years or more of experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of cardiac or vascular sonography. Education
• Other Sonography Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical, setting.
