Job Description

Senior Admitting Worker University of California - San Francisco 36.45 - 45.59 United States, California, San Francisco 1825 4th Street (Show on map) Jun 17, 2026 This is a full-time position (100% time) with a duration through November 2026. The Senior Admitting Worker serves as a key member of the PREPARE team and is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and managing preoperative appointments for patients undergoing surgical and procedural care. The Senior Admitting Worker ensures patients are scheduled in a timely manner, supports perioperative workflows, provides excellent customer service, and collaborates closely with surgical clinics, anesthesia providers, nurses, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff to promote safe and efficient patient care. Schedule PREPARE appointments using established clinical guidelines and scheduling protocols. Coordinate phone consultations, in-person visits, RN Teach appointments, and specialty referrals as needed. Reschedule, cancel, and modify appointments while maintaining clinic efficiency and access. Coordinate communication with internal departments and external entities related to patient care. Monitor waitlists and prioritize urgent, add-on, and time-sensitive cases.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare scheduling, patient access, medical office operations, and administrative support. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Proficiency with electronic scheduling systems and standard office software.
