Job Description

Job Summary:
This role is responsible for communicating with residents and families regarding their bills. This role works closely with the Green House leaders regarding census and what payer sources we can accept, in addition to working closely with the Finance team regarding delivering checks, assisting with billing, and month-end processes. Attend in-service training, educational classes, and meetings as required. Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Community policies and procedures. Maintain the highest degree of personal and professional integrity. Know and honor Resident Rights. Communicate with residents in a respectful manner. Respond to resident family/visitor requests in a timely and appropriate manner. Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Provide effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers.
Billing:
Supports billing and collections. Track potential changes in payer sources, e.g., private to Medicaid. Refer families to 3rd party for assistance with applying for Medicaid.
Administrative:
Collect, code, and submit all invoices to NHA for approval, then coordinate with central accounting; track vendor invoices that are chronically late. Assist with month-end close as needed. Provide audit support as necessary. Provide general office support as needed, including but not limited to office supply ordering, managing copier and postage machine maintenance, etc. Provide overall administrative support to the Green House leadership team. Manage Resident Trust Funds, including the ability to record cash transactions in and out accurately, and most importantly, understand how to reconcile accounts. Maintain confidential resident files, ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations. Responsible for uploading documents related to billing and reimbursement into Point Click Care. As part of the GH leadership team, attend daily and weekly meetings that require you to know what the census is, what the payer sources are, etc. Provide accurate verification of benefits (VOB) to support the admission process. Set and post 'banking' hours and make sure you are available should need arise. Interface with residents and families upon admission; assist residents and families with billing and insurance inquiries. Collect rent and therapy payments, copy, and deliver checks to accounting for deposit. Heavy collaboration with outsourced billing. Track and process resident refunds. All other duties as assigned. Understand the gravity and importance of complying with regulations regarding the security of resident funds. Physical Demands/Working Conditions Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team. Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time. Frequently required to stand and walk. Ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. Plan and meet deadlines. Maintains a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of executive management. Hours may be long and irregular. Demonstrates commitment to continued professional growth and development. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must be proficient with computer applications, including Word, Excel, Internet, and any others that may be required. Ability to use the computer:
including proficiency in Electronic Health Record systems and Microsoft Word and Excel.
