Job Description

The OB Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for pregnant patients, managing their care and coordinating services throughout the pregnancy journey. The OB Coordinator ensures that patients receive timely, coordinated, and comprehensive care by scheduling appointments, managing referrals, assisting with education, and ensuring effective communication between providers and patients.
Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for the coordination of patient appointments, tests, procedures and follow-up.
  • Provides patients with educational information regarding pregnancy care.
  • Assist with communication between providers and patients.
  • Assist patients' insurance and financial coordination.
  • Responsible for medical records management.
Primary Duties:
  • Schedule ultrasounds, lab work and follow-up appointments ensuring the patient is receiving the necessary care during all stages of pregnancy.
  • Assist with insurance verification, authorization for procedures and other financial questions related to prenatal care.
  • Prepare patients for their pregnancy journey by providing information on prenatal care, procedures, testing and other information/educational needs.
  • Coordinate patient referrals and authorizations for external services or specialists.
  • Verify patient information and other medical information ensuring accuracy in EHR.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, specifically OB/GYN.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of OB/GYN practices, prenatal, perinatal and postpartum care.
  • Knowledge of insurance processes, authorization requirements and healthcare regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills to manage scheduling and coordinate care for multiple patients and providers.
  • Ability to provide compassionate support and guidance to patients.
  • Effective problem-solving skills to assist patients with questions and to seamlessly coordinate care.
Experience:
3 or more years of experience in
OBGYN LPN
with OBGYN experience acceptable or encouraged
Job Type:
Full-time Expected hours: 40.0 per week
