Daily Tasks May Include:
Review, prioritize, and respond to patient calls on behalf of team members current in clinic, with focused attention on, refill requests, postoperative concerns, and clinical questions using established protocols. Review, analyze, and summarize medical records to support disability determinations, work restrictions, medical necessity, and other clinical documentation requests. Coordinate and prepare FMLA, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, ADA accommodation, return-to-work, and employer medical certification documentation for provider review and signature. Assist with prior authorization and medical necessity appeals by identifying documentation gaps, gathering supporting records, and preparing appeal packets for provider review. Follow up on status of outbound referrals, diagnostic testing results, missing imaging and operative reports, and other items needed to support continuity of care. Ensure all documentation processes comply with HIPAA, payer requirements, organizational policies, and applicable federal and state regulations. Support clinics as needed by rooming patients, obtaining vitals, documenting histories, and supporting providers during high volume clinic days and/or unplanned absences. Perform additional duties as assigned to maintain high-quality patient care.
Skills/Requirements:
Associate degree in healthcare, nursing, health information management, medical assisting, healthcare administration, or related field. One or more of the following preferred credentials:
CCDS, MA, LPN
Three (3) years of previous medical office experience, preferred Strong verbal communication skills Comfortable working within multiple software systems including
