Temporary Referral Coordinator Confidential North Quincy, MA Job Details Temporary $20 - $23 an hour 13 hours ago Qualifications Filing English High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Typing Full Job Description Temporary Referral Coordinator, North Quincy, $20-$23/hr. The Temporary Referral Coordinator schedules outside patient appointments and secures the appropriate referral authorizations and pre-certifications required by each patient's health insurance plan. In some cases, the Referral Coordinator will instruct patients to make their own appointments directly. This role handles all referral-related calls and follow-ups, and stays current on insurance requirement changes, notifying providers of any updates that affect their patients. The Referral Coordinator also helps under- or uninsured patients understand their specialist and testing options. Additional responsibilities include entering current demographic and insurance information into Medical Manager for patients requesting referrals, logging telephone requests from the referral line, and answering incoming calls. Core Responsibilities Treat patients with care, respect, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality Act as a resource for patients and staff regarding insurance benefit management Triage emergent and urgent calls to a nurse as appropriate Maintain current knowledge of insurance classes and their requirements Stay familiar with CHC's policies and procedures for referral management Complete all paperwork required by insurance plans and the Managed Care Department Help patients schedule appointments according to Managed Care Department policies Maintain knowledge of the Practice Management System to accurately record referral activity Participate in center-wide meetings, staff trainings, and committees Demonstrate flexibility in covering department needs Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Skills, Experience, and Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Strong, accurate computer skills Basic filing and typing abilities Strong communication skills Ability to multitask and shift priorities quickly Personable, approachable, and positive demeanor Ability to read and write in English Critical Job Demands Manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively Thrive in a fast-paced environment Maintain attention to detail and follow up promptly Have hand dexterity, clear hearing, and clear speaking ability Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
