Job Summary:
The Adoptive and Foster Parent Recruitment and Retention Services Regional Resource Team provides one-on-one guidance to prospective foster families to help them navigate Michigan's foster care system. The Regional Resource Team staff include experienced foster or kinship parents who provide information, support and guidance to families throughout the state.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Foster Care Navigator Team Lead is responsible for providing direction, guidance, support for the Foster Care Navigators. The Team Lead is responsible for supporting and assisting both Region 4 and Region 5 AFPRR supervisors in the development and management of the program. The Team Lead will have the ability to assist the Navigators in Regions 4 and 5, and assist in direct case assignment as appropriate. As the Foster Care Navigator Team Lead, the primary responsibilities include: Ability to train, and develop staff in a team environment. Provide support to the supervisor in process development or adjustments as needed. Ability to provide back up support to Foster Care Navigators. Ability to carry a caseload as needed. Conduct case file reviews. Ability to provide foster, adoptive, and kinship parent pre-service training Maintain contact with MDHHS and Foster Care service providers throughout Michigan. Knowledge of Foster Care Licensing policies and procedures. Ability to maintain contract compliance and analyze data. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Provide quality customer service. Cultural competence. Conduct outreach to agencies and community stakeholders. Participates in required trainings. Attend all scheduled team meetings. Attend Meetings to Represent the FCN Program as needed Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications :

A Bachelor's degree in social work or other human service field is preferred Must have either a current foster care license in a good standing or a closed in good standing license; an ability to support and encourage other families Demonstrated experience in, or potential for, providing supervision and leadership to staff. Demonstrated administrative and interpersonal experience. Knowledge of child welfare policies and programs, and recruitment and retention strategies and best practice models. Ability to provide culturally competent services that shows sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics. Highly computer literate. Ability to relate to current and prospective adoptive, foster and kinship families. Ability to relate to local and state MDHHS personnel, agency staff and other service providers. Ability to be available to staff 24/7 for emergencies and unexpected issues. Ability to travel throughout the state as needed A valid Michigan driver's license. Central Registry Clearance documenting that there is no record of child abuse or neglect. Internet Criminal History Access Tool (ICHAT) check and a National and State Sex Offender Registry check.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :
A Bachelor's degree in social work or other human service field is preferred Social Work Licensure preferred, not required Valid Michigan Driver's License, appropriate insurance and use of own vehicle.
Working Conditions :
Office environment Position requires some evening and weekend hours as needed Position requires travel throughout Michigan Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, walk, stand, sit, communicate verbally and in writing, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
