Managing the patient experience Help patients understand their treatment plans, the benefits of treatment, and insurance coverage. Help patients afford dental care by discussing financial options and payment plans. Communicating with patients and staff Act as a liaison between patients, doctors, and other clinic staff. Communicate patient needs and questions to the dentist and staff, and notify clinical staff of schedule changes. Scheduling and managing appointments Schedule patient appointments, reschedule missed appointments, and call patients who have not completed treatment. Managing paperwork Handle all treatment paperwork, including consent forms, policy forms, and exit paperwork. Submit paperwork to insurance providers Must have at least 2 years working in a dental office as a treatment coordinator. Also must have very good communication skills, knowledge of financial management, and a comprehensive understanding of various dental treatments and procedures.
