Job Description

Job Summary:
In accordance with the organization's mission, vision and values, the Access Peer is responsible for the overall coordination of admissions and client tracking to FLACRA's Residential Services as well as coordination of COTI clients in conjunction with the Access Coordinator. The Access Peer will triage and provide telephonic crisis support services and engagement services.
The following duties will apply:
Duties Provide telephonic crisis support services. Screen referrals to Residential Services and coordinate assessments with access counselors as appropriate Coordinate bed placement according to policy. Ensure coordination boards are in alignment and up to date. Follow up with referral sources to advise of referent status and to request and receive additional required information and/or documents. Assure all clients placed on wait list receive regular communication as to their status as outlined in COTI policies. Assist in the organization of meetings, trainings and other agency events as requested. Remain current with Narcan training. Maintain, update and distribute informational listings and reports in a timely manner. Demonstrates teamwork and an ability to work in a team environment with coworkers and supervisors. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and cooperative. Participate in general, staff, in-service and supervisory meetings held by the Agency. Provide appropriate outreach and maintains waitlist for vacancies in coordination with mobile staff. Provides routine data gathering and administrative functions as assigned. Complete bed availability system data entry. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year of working experience with the ability to type at least 55 wpm, with transcription, Word and Excel experience. Ability to acquire certification as a Peer within 6 months of hire. Experience and/or training in Behavioral Health/Client Care a plus. Other Skills/Knowledge and Experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse persons, staff and community service providers. Ability to multi-task, have good problem solving & time management skills and the ability to remain calm in a crisis. Ability to remain professional in behavioral health crisis situations.
