Job Description
CHILD FIRST
® model. Bachelor's degree in child development, psychology, nursing, human services, or related fields preferred. A minimum of three years working with culturally diverse families and young children under the age of six years preferred. Knowledge of early childhood development, parent education, parent-child relationships, and individual, family, and community-level risk factors (e.g., poverty, homelessness, maternal depression, domestic violence, substance abuse, teen parenthood). Knowledge of and experience with community-based services and supports in service area, highly valued. Experience working in home and community-based settings with populations of diverse cultures and ethnicities preferred. Ability to speak a second language (Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Creole, other), highly valued. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain client confidentiality. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver's license and vehicle in good working condition. Automobile liability insurance that meets minimum requirements set forth by Counsel NOLA. Valid Louisiana registration, certification or licensure in a mental health related field. First aid and CPR certification. Familiarity with MicrosoftOffice Suite, email and Internet. Must live in community and parishes served (St. Tammany & Washington Parishes). Must be at least 21 years of age. No history of DUI violations. Approved to meet the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services standards based on criminal history background check.Job Type:
