Job Description

This vacancy is for a
GS-1801-13, SENIOR MARINE INVESTIGATOR
located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, SECTOR
HOUSTON/GALVESTON INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION
in Houston, Texas and New Orleans, Louisiana. Pay will be set based on the location you're selected for: New Orleans $106,437 to $138,370 Houston $122,749 to $159,575
Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS- 13 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular basis. Presenting information to broad audiences to include various law enforcement groups, maritime companies, ship pilot associations, courts, and local conferences Preparing investigative reports, briefing papers and technical analyses related to the findings of facts, conclusions and safety recommendations made related to marine casualty investigation, investigating merchant mariner negligence, misconduct, incompetence, and dangerous drug use leading to appropriate remedial MMC suspension or revocation, Providing technical support and training to new staff
