Duties Perform DOT / Non-DOT Physicals at our Berkeley CA office. Perform thorough physical examinations and medical evaluations in accordance with DOT standards for commercial drivers. Conduct detailed patient assessments, including medical history review, vital signs measurement, and musculoskeletal system evaluation. Utilize your knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, and the musculoskeletal system to identify potential health issues affecting fitness to drive. Document findings accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Provide clear patient care instructions, including acute pain management strategies, physical assessments, and treatment plans when necessary. Assess patients for musculoskeletal diagnostics and perform physical examinations that include manual therapy techniques such as chiropractic diversified technique, trigger point therapy, and patient rehabilitation exercises. Communicate effectively with clients regarding their health status, treatment options, and necessary follow-up care while maintaining professionalism and empathy. Qualifications Current DOT certification as a Medical Examiner with valid credentials to perform commercial driver physicals. Professional licensure as an NP (Nurse Practitioner), PA (Physician Assistant), or Chiropractor in good standing. Demonstrated experience in patient observation, physical assessments, and healthcare diagnosis. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and the musculoskeletal system. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for documentation and record keeping. Experience in pain medicine, manual therapy techniques, trigger point therapy, and patient treatment planning. Familiarity with evidence-based practice approaches to patient care and pain management. Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical concepts clearly. Ability to perform physical examinations involving biomechanics and musculoskeletal diagnostics effectively.
