Job Summary:
The Chiropractor provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic chiropractic care for neuromusculoskeletal conditions in accordance with clinical privileges granted by the Commanding Officer. This role includes patient evaluation, treatment planning, use of therapeutic modalities, patient education, and support of military readiness through training, preventive care, and limited duty determinations.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Doctor of Chiropractic. Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
License:
Current, full, active and unrestricted license to practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic.
Experience:
Clinical experience as a Chiropractor within the past two years. U.S. Citizenship is required
Key Responsibilities:
Provide services within the scope of the clinical privileges granted by the Commanding Offier. Perform a full range of clinical diagnosis and chiropractic treatment for commonly occurring neuromusculoskeletal conditions including sublaxation complex. Conduct a patent history and chiropractic physical examination as clinical indicated. Use the modalities of heat, cold, light, electricity, sound and exercises in patient treatment area. Provide patient instructions and recommendations in all matters pertaining to hygiene, nutrition, exercise, lifestyle changes and ergonomic factors in the activities of daily living. Plan and conduct lectures and training programs on chiropractic related subjects for staff, students, and patients. Order orthotics, lifts, collars, and lumbar sacral supports. Place active-duty patients on limited duty status (profile) according to MTF policy.
Work Environment & Schedule:
Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6:30am to 6:30pm at Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC), North Chicago, Illinois Fisher Branch Medical Clinic, BLDG 237, Physical Therapy Department.
