Description The Rehabilitation Center at The Dog Retreat and Spa in Waltham, Massachusetts is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian with a strong background in rehabilitation and pain management to add to our team. This position offers flexibility in scheduling and is ideal for a DVM who is passionate about advanced patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and restoring mobility and quality of life for our small companion animal patients. Who We Are We are a close-knit team of certified rehabilitation therapists and technicians led by a DVM who is certified in both acupuncture and canine rehabilitation. Each member of our team brings a strong foundation in general practice, emergency medicine, or shelter medicine before discovering their passion for physical rehabilitation. To continue to grow and maintain our practice, we support our staff getting further certifications, which continue to set up apart from other facilities. Our Rehabilitation Center is centrally located in Waltham within The Dog Retreat & Spa. We've built exceptional collaborative relationships with local primary care veterinarians as well as specialty surgeons and neurologists. Requirements We're looking for the following regarding Education and Experience Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of Massachusetts Minimum of 2 years of experience as a DVM in a rehabilitation
  • or sports medicine-focused practice Must hold at least one of the following certifications:
DACVSMR CCRT CCAT CCRP CCRV VMRT CRPM CVA/CVAT
(Veterinary Acupuncture) preferred CVPP (Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner) preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Provide high-quality treatment for patients with orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, or chronic pain Perform initial examinations, rechecks, acupuncture, and therapeutic exercise planning Manage cases with a thoughtful, individualized approach Prescribe medications and refer patients for advanced diagnostics or specialty treatments as appropriate Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, staff, and referring veterinarians Provide thorough client education on treatment plans and at-home therapy options Mentor and collaborate with staff to support team growth and clinical excellence Contribute to practice development through leadership, professional growth, and outreach initiatives Physical Requirements Dependable attendance is required Ability to work scheduled shifts (8, 10, or 12 hours) Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
