Job Description

Join our U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy Team as a Senior Associate! Our U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy team is responsible for evaluating, managing and implementing changes to various benefit programs (e.g., medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability), monitoring plan performance, regulations and marketplace trends, and taking an active part in the design and implementation of the firm's overall wellness initiatives. The medical plan and wellness program is designed to meet the needs of over 180,000 U.S. employees and is recognized for its commitment to employee health and well-being. As Senior Associate within U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy, you will blend data analytics and strategy to evaluate and measure the performance of our U.S. healthcare initiatives and innovations aimed at improving employee health care. In this role, you'll have the unique opportunity to see firsthand how data-driven insights translate into actionable solutions for complex business challenges, helping shape decisions that directly influence the effectiveness, value, and experience of our health plan offerings.
Job responsibilities:
Analyze and report on the financial, clinical and operational performance of the JPMorgan Chase U.S. Health Care & Insurance Plans on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Leverage medical and health care data sets, such as medical claims, within a data warehouse to glean insights on program / plan performance, work with plan managers to develop strategies and recommendations, and prepare PowerPoint presentations to detail insights and recommendations Assist with scoping and preparing data to support innovation initiatives and respond to data requests from broader benefits team and senior leaders Integrate data from multiple data sets into relevant systems for reporting and/or metric production; scope and execute projects to enhance or maintain our claims data warehouse Support the scoping, refining, and delivery of innovative, data-driven studies of health care data, experimenting and iterating to uncover new opportunities, inform strategy, and measure the effectiveness / success of health care initiatives Build relationships and partner with our financial consultants and vendors to analyze and interpret data sets, and monitor the performance of healthcare plans Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Minimum 5 years in corporate benefits, benefits consulting or health plan/health insurance field along with data analytics background Knowledge of U.S. health care and insurance plans, and healthcare concepts, including diagnosis codes, specialty types, provider TIN's, and provider billing practices Builder's mindset that experiments, measures, learns, and iterates, bringing fresh, practical approaches to solve complex problems Strong personal project management skills and able to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple deliverables Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, Tableau or Power BI Experience working within a healthcare data warehouse or directly with healthcare data Strong analytical skills: ability to demonstrate trends in data, draw thoughtful and meaningful conclusions from that data, organize data, and check reports for weaknesses Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills and a high level of attention to detail Ability to partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams at various levels and communicate findings to non-technical business partners Bachelor's degree required Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: Large firm experience (50,000+ employees) Experience working with self-insured health care claims data within a data warehouse, e.g. supporting data installations, building reports, scoping and creating dashboards Python or other programming language a plus To be eligible for this role, you must be authorized to work in the United States.
