Insurance Credentialer - Medical Billing

We welcome all who want to join our team! Position Description The Insurance Credentialer (IC) will be an attentive go getter that strives to enroll our practices and providers very quickly. Many insurance companies can take months to complete enrollment and the IC will be the one to move these applications as quickly as possible through consistent follow up. The IC is very organized and a self-starter. Insurance companies change their process constantly so the IC will need to be able to learn how to navigate through these changes. Position Responsibilities 1. Enroll new and existing providers with Medicare and state Medicaid plans. 2. Link new and existing providers to existing insurance contracts for our clients. 3. Maintaining insurance enrollments through recredentialing and avoiding the termination of contracts 4. Obtaining new insurance contracts for our clients as quick as possible 5. Negotiating fee schedule rate changes and obtaining better rates 6. Consistent follow up with insurance companies and maintaining a tracking list of all outstanding applications that are in progress 7. The work of the IC will be done almost entirely on the computer, so the IC will need to navigate portals, electronic applications, and other software effectively with a very low error rate. 8. Completing applications that are accurate, with all the information on the application reflecting the correct practice, provider, and information. 9. Maintain and cultivate a skilled knowledge of the insurance company industry and develop and maintain a record of how to navigate these channels for enrollment.
